I am a researcher and strategist by trade,
and a designer at heart.

Known for my ability to move fluidly from a position of deep listening and understanding, to one of strategic application in creative environments, I help products and organizations deliver holistic experiences that solve core user needs.

From designing and executing research plans that help companies gain genuine empathy for their users, to leading ideation and concept development, I thrive in being able to turn insights into ideas and creating tangible products and services that meet the needs of not just the end user, but the guardrails of the product, brand, and possibilities of technology.

Exploratory, Generative, and Evaluative User Research

Talking, listening, understanding real people is at the heart of everything I do. Whether it’s a mother of two, a dog parent, a patient, or a convenience store owner, I dive deeply and look broadly to understand who they are, what drives them, and how I can help provide what’s missing, creating something that is more human-centric.

Design Thinking

I believe when you are given the freedom to diverge and have the expertise to know when to hone in and converge, great things can happen. Guided by the consumer always, this iterative approach encourages early and frequent feedback loops that invite not just the consumer, but the internal core teams to get their hands dirty and create solutions that stick.

Jobs-to-be-Done

When you start to think about every product and service out there as a tool to help a consumer make progress on a “job,” you begin to frame your questions differently. What drove them to hire a product? Fire one? More important, what context were they in? The everlasting JTBD provides a roadmap and guidance for all facets of a business, from branding to innovation.

Ideation Design & Facilitation

The next best thing to learning is applying. I believe the most critical elements of every ideation are deep immersion, interactivity, diversity in perspectives, and the right tools, environment, and exercises to stimulate thinking outside of the four walls of a business.

Concept Development & Refinement

Turning an idea into a concept is part art and part science—it’s when you really begin to merge the elements of business strategy and technology with the needs and desires of the consumer.

Multi-disciplinary Teams

I thrive in environments where I can work closely with designers, engineers, scientists, and marketers that can each provide insightful perspectives and expertise. Ideas built cross-functionally are most successful in capturing functional, emotional, and social needs of the consumer, while also addressing the constraints and possibilities of a business. Further, I believe the consumer voice is most powerful when it can travel far and wide, which is why I also look to include teams early and often in an effort to ensure the context, pain points, hopes and desires of consumers are embedded deeply within the organization.
